I have a fawn colored show dog and i want to know the best shampoo and conditioners for his coat. (akita)
Also what supplements should he be taking.
NOT BREED SPECIFIC!!!!!!
Do NOT use a conditioer-it will soften(incorrect!) the coat!
ALL "supplements" are SCAMS/CONS/RIP-OFFS!!!
Every single one-don’t waste your money.
WHY are you asking strangers-online(98% children),btw? Why isn’t your breeder helping you?

He does not need supplements, unless you really want to but its not necessary. I use nupro for my guys every once in a while. As for shampoos and conditioners I use medicated shampoos, they work wonders on the coat. Pyoben, Dermabynss, sulfoxydex are my top three, malaseb was in there but I believe I hear they are discontinuing it or the company is going out of business. Any shampoo works really, I don’t use conditioner but then again I don’t have a dog with lots of hair.

IMHO the less a dogs coat is shampooed the better.
I’ve been showing dogs for a lot of years, and it is my experience that a natural coat is a proper coat.
For that reason I will rinse a dog with nothing but cool water probably 10 times for every time I will use a shampoo. So far no shampoo company has been willing to pay me to endorse their product, (i wonder why) so I don’t.
My show dogs probably only get shampooed 2-3 times a year.
If a dog needs a supplement, it needs a different dog food.
